I met Jackie and Dede while photographing Jackie’s brother Chris’s wedding last fall in Newburyport. When they contacted me last year to talk about photographing their upcoming wedding, they told me that one of the reasons they chose to get married in Mass (they live in D.C.) was so that I could be the one to capture their wedding day. It doesn’t get any better than that. Such a perfect fit. I was excited to head down to Falmouth the day before their wedding day to do some location scouting. It’s Cape Cod so clearly we were going to get the classic must-have beach shots but what else could I uncover? I lucked out finding The Carousel of Light and a nearby short path full of greenery with white flowers which both added a whimsical touch to the day. Not only did they love the carousel but we also walked over to the adjacent playground and had some more fun shooting there too. When is the last time you saw a bride climb a rock wall in a full gown? Awesome. The ceremony and reception were just as fun. It sprinkled a bit on us midway through the nuptials but just lightly and I love that you can see the drops falling in some of the images. From Legos to Ord the Dragon, the underlying theme of their day highlighted who they really are: kids at heart. And two kids in love. xx

This was my first wedding since a serious biking accident in Ptown mid July where I landed in Mass General for surgery. The biggest heartfelt thanks to Jurek Schreiner for assisting and second shooting. It was great to be back in full swing with you by my side.
